Jason Lee Scott
He was the original red ranger and leader of the group of teenage heroes. Portrayed by actor Austin St. John, Jason was charismatic and strong. He led his team mates through many difficult battles. His dinosaur was the tyrannosaurus rex.
Zack Taylor
Faithful and true, Zack was usually the second in command during missions to save Angel Grove. He utilised the power of the mastodon when forming part of the megazord. Walter Emanuel Jones played him during the original run of the series. He was the black ranger.
Trini Kwan
The late Thuy Trang portrayed the yellow ranger in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. She brought a feisty sense of fun to the team. Her dinosaur was the super fast sabre toothed tiger. Sadly Trang passed away in 2001 at the age of 27.
Kimberly Hart
The pink ranger is a firm favourite for many long term fans of the show. Amy Jo Johnson put her stamp on the character by giving Kimberly depth and heroism. Some have seen the pink ranger as an important feminist figure. She showed that women could become action stars. She used the powers of the pterodactyl during the show. This gave her the ability to fly.
Billy Cranston
The blue ranger is the longest lasting member in the entire show. He has made appearances in several spin-offs and has had a big impact on the entire series. Billy is considered the brains behind the team. He has created devices and weapons that not even Zordon was capable of making. David Yost played Billy. He has spoken publicly about the troubles he experienced while making the show. This led to him leaving before the character was set to have his final episode. The triceratops is Billy’s power dinosaur which he uses to form an important part of the megazord.
